+ + a man's obsession with Net Empowerment, technology and the quest for knowledge + +

Everybody knows I am not a big fan of Facebook...Technology is wonderful but should be used sensibly without us losing our humanity.

A psychologist is urging people to get off Facebook and other social networking sites, and get a life instead.

I would love to hear comment/feedback from readers of this blog on the subject.

I'm totally with you on this one. I mean not only do people not know how to communicate properly anymore, if you break up with someone it's there for everyone else to see on the internet which makes it about a million times worse. Then of course, if your ex gets a new boyfriend/girlfriend joy of joys you get to watch them flirting, see pictures of them together and the change in their 'relationship status' while you're still single. Facebook was built to make people who don't think getting drunk and dancing around half naked is cool feel even more alienated and alone than they do already. And no, we don't want to know how incredible your holiday in Malaysia was, especially if we've been stuck at home with a rainy christmas. Wow, sorry but people really just need to get a life.
